Christina Aguilera is taking a littlehiatusfrom her coaching duties onThe Voice.
The singer, who has a new album coming out, said that itsnecessaryfor the coaches to take a break from the show so that they can still go out and perform. Aguilera said that the knowledge and experience she gains with her most recent album and tour will make her a better coach next season.
In order to be the best coach I can be on that show is to go out and be able to have the experience as an artistcreate new experiences for myself so that I can then come back to the show and share that much more.
Aguilera said that shes already talked to producer Mark Burnett about returning to the show.
Aguilera said:
(Burnett) understands that were artists first. In order to remain great coaches and to stay relevant, we have to go out and we have to still tour, see our fans one-on-one. I have to feel creatively fulfilled in order for me to then do my job as a coach and be on that show.
Aguilera and Cee Lo Green announced earlier this month that they would be taking a break from the show. Usher and Shakira will be stepping in to replace them.
Its the type of show that I feel really sets up an artist and makes it about what matters most first: the voice Everything else comes afterwards in terms of thementors; thats what gives the personality, gives the opportunity to be an artist who will excel and transcend culture and also be able to tell an incredible story in music. So I like being able to be at that place. I love being a mentor.
Do you think it was a smart move for Christina Aguilera to momentarily step away fromThe Voice?
