Christina Aguilera, Michael Bubl for Christmas album

Christina Aguilera and Michael Bubl are among the artists confirmed for two forthcoming Christmas compilation albums.

The LPs - which are due for release this October - will also include tracks from Jason Mraz, Train, Rascal Flatts and Amy Grant, Idolator reports.

Proceeds from the records - called A Very Special Christmas 25th Anniversary and A Very Special Christmas: Bringing Peace on Earth - go to the Special Olympics, an organisation dedicated to proving year-round sports training for people with intellectual disabilities.

The charity is this year celebrating 25 years of its festive albums, which have previously included the likes of Madonna's 'Santa Baby', U2's 'Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)' and Eurythmics' 'Winter Wonderland'.

Aguilera previously released a Christmas set titled My Kind of Christmas in 2000, which to date has sold three million copies worldwide.

Meanwhile, Bubl released his seventh album Christmas last year, topping the charts in 13 countries including the US and UK, where it became the third best-selling album of the year.
