Christina Aguilera Is Telling 'Everything' On Next Album
Christina Aguilera got fans excited last week when she was snapped in a little black dress, wielding a baseball bat, on the set of her "Your Body" music video. While a release date for the leaked track's video has yet to be announced, the enthusiasm around Aguilera's next project, including her still untitled album, seems to be at an all-time high.
In an interview withBillboard, the "Voice" judge opens up a bit about her album, her first since 2010's lukewarm Bionic. This album, she says, will reflect "everything I've experienced up until this point... I've been through a lot since the release of my last album, being on ['The Voice'], having had a divorce. This is all sort of a free rebirth for me."
Aguilera split from her husband, Jordan Bratman, in 2010, months after she dropped Bionic, and between balancing her job on "The Voice" and her life as a mom to her son Max, she explains that this album is "super expressive" and "super vulnerable."
"I'm embracing many different things, but it's all feel-good," she continued. "In the fashion that I always like to put forth, it's very self-expressive and it's all heartfelt."
In addition to working with pop super producer Max Martin, Aguilera also recruited her "Voice" pal Cee Lo Green for a track. In an interview with Rolling Stone earlier this summer, she dished a bit more about the album, which has yet to get a release date.
"I'm one that likes to collaborate. I love feeding off the creative energy, and it on! ly makes me better," she said. "I'm on a continual path both personally and professionally. All-around, it's my goal to better myself as a person and an artist, and the show is one of those contributing factors and the guys are great friends at this point. It's fun collaborating with them at this point."
