What better way to illustrate how stardom can hit for some while others still search for their big break than Tony Luccas appearance on Sundays second season premiere of The Voice?

The 35-year-old singer used to be one of the cast members on Disney Channels The Mickey Mouse Club in the early-90s. That would make him part of the same class of stars that brought us Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Ryan Gosling, Keri Russell and the NBC singing competitions coach, Christina Aguilera.
Tony says that when the series was canceled in 1994, many of his fellow cast members formed pop groups with each other while he decided to go it alone performing in clubs and small venues. Meanwhile, Christina also never stopped working. She performed in small clubs, talent competitions, even recorded a single. But, she got her big break after sending in a demo to Disney that landed her the single Reflection for the Mulan soundtrack and a record deal with RCA.

Fast forward almost two decades and Tony is still looking for his big break on The Voice where one his former cohorts sits as the queen bee and highest paid coach of the bunch with a very successful pop career under her b! elt.
His take on Trouble won Adam Levine over first. Christina and Blake Shelton soon joined and Adam then pushed Cee Lo Greens button for him a first for the series. That would become his rallying call for the performer to pick him. I pushed two buttons, Adam pointed out.
Still without recognizing him, Christina said Tony had a silky tone to his voice and Blake mentioned that he could sense that there was a real professional quality to the performance that meant he has been at this for a while. If he only knew. In the end, Tony honored Adams belief in his ability and chose him. Through out the entire critique, Tony stayed quiet about his association with Christina and let the music speak for itself.

Then as Christina was turning around, the camera caught her chin drop. She had recognized who he was and scurried backstage for a rather touching reunion. She also met his wife and son (who had previously predicted Christina would recognize his dad, even while the singer had doubted it).
How the hell can I be happier? Tony said later after the reunion with Christina.
