Christina Aguilera Confirmed For Third Season Of The Voice?
According to reports, pint-sized popstar Christina Aguilera has already signed a deal for a third season of hit US singing talent show The Voice.
The singing competition stands out from other reality shows, because the focus is primarily on the singing ability of the hopefuls rather than their looks. All four judges, including Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Blake Shelton and Adam Levine have also had very successful singing careers and are known for their distinctive voices.
The second season has just returned to US TV screens, but The Voice bosses are thought to be thinking about screening a new series in the Autumn to go up against rival show the US X Factor, which is due to start then.
The Wrap reports that show bosses want to resign all four judges as coaches, with a production insider commenting: "We're really pleased with the entire cast. You look at (the) ratings and it's no accident."
So far NBC have not confirmed these claims, but they have said that they are considering a third season to be screened in the Autumn. They have also decided to not comment on rumours that Christina Aguilera is being paid less than the previously reported figure of $10 million (6.3 million) for appearing on the show.
The Voices second season premiere attracted 37.6million US viewers and has spawned a UK version featuring Tom Jones, Jessie J, will.i.am and Script frontman Danny O'Donoghue which is due to be screened on UK TV screens this spring.
