- The Voice Recap: Christina
Its Christina and Blakes turn to chop their teams in half as the knockout round comes to a close!
The latest round of The Voice comes to an end, as coaches Christina Aguilera and Blake Shelton eliminate half of their team members in the second half of the knockout rounds!
Devyn DeLoera vs. Laura Vivas
Christina pairs these two because she feels they are two powerful vocalists. Devyn chooses I Have Nothing by Whitney Houston to compete because she says she has nothing without this show. Laura chooses to compete with I Need To Know by Marc Anthony to show her Latina-ness. During her performance, Devyn isnt able to reach Whitney-levels of amazing, but she sounds alright. Laura is a lot of fun with her salsa performance. Christina advances Devyn!
Adriana Louise vs. Celica Westbrook
These two are going head-to-head because Christina only wants one powerful pop singer, she says. Adriana chooses Already Gone by Kelly Clarkson so she can show emotion. Celica chooses Never Say Never by
Alessandra Guercio vs. Dez Duron
Alessandra chooses to compete with Take A Bow by Rihanna, while Dez chooses Stuck On You by Lionel Richie. Alessandra brings a powerful quality to her performance that we hadnt really seen yet in the competition. Dezs song is pretty boring, but hes got the heartthrob working for him. Christina advances Dez!
Chevonne vs. Deborah
Chevonne chooses Dancing With Myself by Billy Idol, while Deborah opts for You Found Me by The Fray. Christina advances Deborah. Chevonne ignores her former coach Cee Lo Green as he tries to say goodbye. Sore loser!
Aquile vs. Sylvia Yacoub
Christina pairs these two up because she says they always put their heart and soul into their performances. Aquile competes with Bruno Mars Grenade, which is a good choice for his voice. Sylvia chooses to compete with her coachs song Fighter, which is a brave decision, if you ask me. Her brave choice pays off, as Christina advances Sylvia!
Gracia Harrison vs. Liz Davis
Blake pairs up his country queens for his first knockout matchup. Gracia chooses to compete with Aerosmiths I Dont Want To Miss A Thing, while Liz chooses Blakes wife Miranda Lamberts Gunpowder and Lead. Lizs song proves to be a wise choice, as Blake advances her to the live rounds!
Rudy Parris vs. Terry McDermott
Blake pairs these two up be! cause the! yre both rockers. Terry opts to compete with Paul McCartneys Maybe Im Amazed, while Rudy chooses Chris Browns Forever despite Blakes warning that the song may be too young for him. Blake advances Terry!
Collin McLoughlin vs. Michaela Paige
Collin chooses to compete with Breakeven (Falling to Pieces) by the Script, which is such a good song that he ought to rock! Michaela, meanwhile, decides to go with Pat Benatars Love Is A Battlefield, a song that is perfect for her. As he decides to advance, Blake says, Man, I love this little girl so much, I gotta go with Michaela. And so she moves forward!
Julio Cesar Castillo vs. MarissaAnn
This is quite an odd head-to-head, in my opinion. Julio chooses to compete with Justin Biebers Somebody To Love, while MarissaAnn goes with a bold choice: Lady Marmalade, a song that Christina famously covered! Both perform well, leading Blake to feel the two are dead even, but he eventually chooses Julio to advance!
Cassadee Pope vs. Suzanna Choffel
Cassadee chooses to compete with Payphone by Maroon 5, another song originally by one of our coaches, while Suzanna goes with Could You Be Loved by Bob Marley. While both do great, Blake advances Cassadee, to whom Adam says, You pick Blake Shelton and you sing my song? Youre breaking my heart!
