Christina Aguilera Hints At Britney Spears Rivalry, Says Her Music Is 'More Daring'
Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake were all chart topping singers at the same time and had a shared start in TV series Mickey Mouse Club, but Christina has subtly alluded to the rivalry between the three acts by saying their music was not edgy enough.
The Voice judge shocked fans when she ditched her good girl image after 'Genie In A Bottle' with her risque music for the Stripped album, which including black extensions, revealing costumes and naughty piercings.
In a report by Perezhilton.com, Christina had some sly remarks to make about N*Sync and Britney, who had worked with Swedish songwriter Max Martin during their heyday and now features on Christina's album.
"I'm not sure we would have been able to create the same music had we connected earlier. He did all the Britney and N'Sync songs, and I was doing something a little more daring. But we've gained respect for each other."
That's some subtle shade Christina!
Christina also had some choice words about the current artists who consistently top the charts.
"I don't really push myself to have those formulaic commercial successes. It's dishonest and it starts lacking creativity. I embraced being a pop artist, but I like doing it on my own terms, at my own pace."
Let's hope Christina's new album lives up to the hype and is just as "daring" and"honest" and she says!
