Christina Aguilera - Christina Aguilera Explored Disneyland After Hours At Christmas
Pop superstar Christina Aguilera roamed Disneyland after hours at Christmas (Dec11) after receiving an invitation to stay in a special hotel suite right in the heart of the California theme park.
The Genie in a Bottle hitmaker, who became a child star on Disney variety TV show The Mickey Mouse Club, was treated like royalty over the winter holidays and put up in the Disneyland Dream Suite, a luxury apartment at the resort, ahead of her performance during the Christmas Day Parade.
She says, "Recently I had a Christmas performance with them so I was invited to stay at the Dream Suite. You have to be invited. It's a specific hotel room, basically, right on top of Pirates of the Caribbean ride. You go out on the balcony, you walk down the steps and you're in Disneyland, you can just hop on a ride next door. It's amazing. The room is sort of animated, there's a Mermaid Lagoon that lights up the bedroom, it turns into a fireplace and starts dancing around, it's like an animated fire..."
Aguilera was even granted permission to explore Disneyland in the middle of the night, after the park had been closed to the public.
She adds, "It's so much fun. And the best part is you get to wear your bathrobes and step out into the park after hours when no one's there and take pictures in your bathrobes."
The singer took her then-three-year-old son Max with her to the holiday event, but she admits the magic of Disney was lost on her when the late night fireworks shows threatened to disturb her boy's sleep.
She explains, "I was so worried because I had my son with me and at nine and 11 o' clock I think, they have this Fantasia, big dramatic show on the water right outside our balcony. Our room is right there and my son has to go to bed and I'm like, 'How is he gon! na sleep because there's fireworks and witches cackling' and it's just like, the sorcerer's coming and my son is trying to sleep, so I'm like, 'OK Disney, this is not OK right now!'"
