Christina Aguilera to be honoured at People's Choice Awards 2013

Christina Aguilera will be honoured at the People's Choice Awards 2013, it has been announced.

The singer will be named 'People's Voice' 2013 in recognition of her outstanding achievements in the music industry.

The prize also celebrates Aguilera's ability to reach millions of fans around the globe and across genres.

Aguilera is also nominated for 'Favourite Celebrity Judge' for her role on The Voice. She will perform during the ceremony, which takes place at LA's Nokia Theatre on January 9, 2013, airing on CBS.

"I am thrilled to announce that Christina Aguilera is joining Jason Aldean as a performer at the People's Choice Awards," executive producer Mark Burnett said.

"Christina is one of my dearest friends and lights up literally every stage she steps onto. And I am so glad that I get to work with the amazing Jason Aldean again. I cannot wait to see these performances live on show night!"

Aguilera has sold over 50 million albums worldwide during her career, won five Grammy Awards and was the only artist under 30 to make Rolling Stone's '100 Greatest Singers of All Time' list.
