Christina Aguilera lends support to hurricane Sandy victims

Washington, Nov 3 (ANI): Christina Aguilera has opened the charity telethon, "Hurricane Sandy: Come Together," to help people affected by the devastation caused by the natural calamity.

"I was born in Staten Island," Contactmusic quoted her as saying.

"We are here for you. We will do whatever we can to help.

"We will not leave any one of you behind, because every single one of you matters," she added.

The 31-year-old singer then sang a heart wrenching version of 'Beautiful.'

Other performances that followed included were that from Bon Jovi, Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel and Aerosmith.

'Today' host Matt Lauer said that it was easy to get everyone on board, and mostly require "one phone call."

"Sending my love and support to everyone on the east coast who's been affected. Thinking of u all. XoXtina," she later tweeted. (ANI)
