Rae looked every bit the rock star -- and it's easy to imagine, say, the "American Idol" judges putting her through to Hollywood had she auditioned for that show -- but without the boost her arresting looks might have brought, her voice alone didn't compel the coaches to push their buttons. The Voice contestant Tony Lucca has said that he was "flattered" by Christina Aguilera 's reaction to him on this week's second season premiere. Lucca appeared alongside Aguilera on The Mickey Mouse Club back when they were children, and although the singer initially didn't recognise her former co-star during his blind audition on Sunday (February 5), when it dawned on her who he was she left the audition room to find him backstage for a catch-up. The Beautiful hitmaker has long been open about the physical and mental abuse her mother Shelly suffered at the hands of former U.S. army sergeant Fausto. The pair eventually fled and moved in with the singer's grandmother. Aguilera was estranged from her father for a decade until they briefly reunited in 2009 before the superstar realised there were too many bad memories to make him a constant in her life. But now she admits that at 31 years old, it's possibly the right time to give her dad another chance. She tells Latina magazine, "I've talked about how rough things were for me and I'm sure he's heard it. He can't be thrilled about it. So maybe one day we can do lunch... I'm 31 years old now. Maybe it's time."
