Christina Aguilera is reportedly working with Xenomania on her new album.

The singer is said to be collaborating with the Girls Aloud hitmakers on her forthcoming album after Beth Ditto revealed in an interview that she was due to work with Brian Higgins.

Asked who else was in the studio while Gossip recorded their new album A Joyful Noise, Ditto told Popjustice: "I think they were up-and-coming people. But they were like, 'Oh in a week Christina Aguilera's coming in', and I was like, 'Please let me stay here'.

"I would have loved to have stayed there. I bet I could have made her laugh."

Aguilera is currently working on the follow-up to 2010's Bionic, which topped the charts in the UK and peaked at number three in the US.

The star recently confirmed that the LP will be released this year, adding: "My album is going to be amazing. I'm just thrilled. I've been in the studio hard at work.

"The different producers I'm working with have excited me so much and have given me amazing tracks and beats and material that I can write to."
