Christina Aguilera - John Atterberry, Former Death Row Exec, Shot Dead In Los Angeles

John Atterberry, the former vice president of Death Row Records, has been shot dead in Los Angeles. The incident, which took place last Friday, December 9 2011, is believed to have been a random gun attack with several other pedestrians and motorists also shot at by a man named later as Tyler Brehm.

The incident echoes an incident in the UK in 2010 in which Raoul Moat had gone on a rampage after splitting with his partner. Brehm had also broken up with his girlfriend of four years shortly before his spree. The UK's Daily Mail newspaper had previously reported that among those shot by the 26 year-old included a man in a critical condition and have since updated their story as the victim in question turned out to be music executive Atterbery. BBC News reports that Atterbery was exiting a bank and returning to his car at the time of the incident; Brehm was later shot dead by an off-duty policeman.

The music world will miss the 40 year-old, who has worked with some of the biggest names in music including the Christina Aguilera , Spice Girls and Michael Jackson; at the time of his death he was a senior partner of event promotions company the GridLock Group but had previously had a glittering career in music, including his role at Death Row - at one point home to the biggest rappers in the world including Dr. DrE and SNOOP DOGG.
