A Hollywood trainer has caused outrage after he criticised the bodies and eating habits of celebrities including Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan.

Harley Pasternak is responsible for honing and toning the bodies of La La Land residents from Miley Cyrus to Hilary Duff and he wasn't shy to name the stars he believes are letting themselves go in a recent blog post for People.com.

'Harley Pasternak Blogs About the Fit (And Not So Fit) Former Disney Stars' details Harley's opinions on ten different celebrities' bodies. He was quick to say who should be hitting the treadmill, with Christina Aguilera, Lindsay Lohan and Britney Spears topping the list!

He praised Ashley Tisdale for sticking to a diet of just one solid meal a day, while newly svelte Miley Cyrus gained kudos for her Pilates obsession and "svelte figure" and Raven-Symone was lauded for her 25-pound weight loss over the years, too.

The trainer couldn't resist slating Lindsay Lohan for not taking ! care of her body though. He said:

"The once fresh-faced bright-eyed star has lost all of her youthful glow," he says of the actress, whose struggle with drugs and her weight has been well-documented.

Christina Aguilera was slammed for gaining weight since her days as a teen pop singer:

"While I applaud her for embracing her body, I can't help but be a little skeptical,' the trainer writes. "She doesn't look comfortable in her own skin like she did once upon a time."

According to the trainer, Britney Spears is fit but "not working out as much she once was", and Demi Lovato is now in a better place, after overcoming an eating disorder and self harm.

Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens and Hilary Duff were praised by the trainer for their healthy lifestyles as well as Tisdale, who happily retweeted the blog post. Others were disgusted by Harley's judgemental comments and he was forced to issue an apology. Some critics took to the comments section of his blog to share their views:

One person wrote: "It's not cool to comment on anyone's body really. But it's an especially low blow to comment on someone when you know they've struggled with an eating disorder. That's just shameful."

Another critic said: "This poor excuse for an article makes it seem like the only worth a woman has in this world today is tied to her physical appearance and body shape."

The trainer has since issued an apology via Twitter. "As a nation, we're out of shape," he wrote. "And my job is to help people be the healthiest versions of themselves through diet and exercise.

'But we're also a nation fighting eating disorders and body image issues, and I should be more sensitive to both issues. Please accept my apologies.#"

We can think of a few things to say to you Harley, and the're not too pretty, either...
