Adam Levine got off to a rough start with Christina Aguilera

Rocker Adam Levine struggled to bond with his fellow The Voice judge Christina Aguilera when they first met, revealing the pair got off to a "rough start".

The duo helped launch the hit U.S. talent show alongside Cee Lo Green and Blake Shelton last year, but they hit the headlines for the wrong reasons following speculation of a bust-up behind-the-scenes.

They swiftly silenced the claims by recording their hit duet Moves Like Jagger together, but the rumours refused to go away.

And now the Maroon 5 frontman reveals he butted heads with the Beautiful singer when they first started working together - although he insists they worked through their issues and are now close pals.

He tells MTV News, "We bickered a little bit in the beginning, to be totally truthful, we had a little bit of a rough start, just kind of all getting to know each other.

"But I love her, she's the best, and we're having a fantastic time as of late on the set."
